Okay, so I decided to go through The Book Patch to see how it would turn out for book printing and binding. Honestly, it's not that bad!
There are no minimum quantities, and you can 'design' your own cover. The reason I quote design is because it seems like there is an unlimited amount of options - unless you design your own cover. The Book Patch puts the title of your book and your name on the cover by default, and I could not find a way to get rid of it! You can design a cover and leave those areas blank so you can see the title and name, but if you have a full cover design, like I do for Jessie's Eyes, you will have a much harder time.
I decided to keep looking around, since I would like to keep my own cover. I may end up having to purchase a minimum order. I would rather have more books than fewer books - as long as they're done right.

Just scanned the website and so far very easy (a dream come true). Everything seems straight forward and no hidden costs or agendas. I ordered two copies of my new book and no setup fees or trying to sell me something I don't want. Just straight forward printing. If the book quality is good when it comes in I will have a life long relationship. It is refreshing to know that some things still work the way they should. ReplyDeleteI'm curious, the site asks us for a retail price, but yet all links point to a wholesale price. How does one make any money if everyone can buy wholesale?
ReplyDeleteOnly the authur when he's/she'slogged in can see tiger wholesale price. Try and log in or visit as someone ems and you will only see the retail price.
